Movie review: Iron Man 3

This review contains some spoilers.

Hello readers,
I managed to watch Iron Man 3 yesterday since the DVD has just arrived this week in Singapore. It has been a year since I last watched The Avengers and I was pleased with it. Iron Man 3 is the second film that I have watched from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Let's move on to the review of Iron Man 3, shall we? The film took place a year after The Avengers and shows the rise and fall of Tony Stark/Iron Man. Back in 1999, Stark was at a New Years Eve party in Switzerland with Maya, inventor of Extremis (an experimental regenerative treatment which allow people to recover from crippling injuries) and as an audience, we can see another scientist, Aldrich Killian who somehow admired Stark and wanted him to join AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics). However, Stark humiliated Killian by letting him wait at the rooftop like a fool.

Back to 13 years later, Stark has been experiencing panic attack after the New York alien invasion and the Mandarin has been planting strings of bombings in the United States of America, leaving The intelligence bewildered due to lack of evidence. I have to say that this is a great movie with many jokes and downfall of Tony Stark. It also shows how Stark was able to survived without a 'real' suit since he was wearing a prototype one which was not able to functioned properly. I love the moment when Tony worked with a boy, Harley who seems to lived alone (his mother went out to 7-11 and father won a lottery, I guess... six years ago). Harley was a helpful boy and despite his age, he was able to help Stark in his sudden panic attack twice.

So far, Iron Man 3 is a great movie with various suits army, Dora The Explorer watch and sexy Pepper Polts at the ending. This film is recommended if you want a family action film, an Iron Man supporter or Marvel comic lover. I can tell you that this film does not disappoint you if you watched from the start to the end.

Rating: 4/5

P.S. There is a post-credits scene where Mark Ruffalo reprised his role as Bruce Banner.
