Sasaengs

WARNING: IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT GET OFFENDED OR YOU WOULD SAY ME FOR MENTIONING EXO, THEN I SUGGEST YOU SHOULDN'T READ THIS POST. I AM AN EXO FAN TOO BUT THERE ARE SOME STUFF THAT I MAY NOT LIKE ABOUT THEM OR I THINK IT IS NOT RIGHT.

Today I am here to talk about Sasaengs which has been trending on Twitter for a few days.

If you have no idea what are Sasaengs, they are known to be fanatics towards their idol. They would do anything just to see or get the attention from their idol like following them home, sleeping in front of their house or even weirder, putting their own personal stuff like used sanitary pads in front of their door.

Why was Sasaengs trended on Twitter? They disturbed K-pop group, EXO which occurred last week. On September 28, 2013, the sasaengs appeared at the wedding of member Baekhyun's brother which caused a chaos and led to member calling them, "crazy humans". According to photos and statements, some sasaengs were seen at the lobby of the wedding and Baekhyun's face turned red. Before the wedding took place, member Tao took to his Weibo (he has deleted this post) and expressed his anger saying,

"我实在是受不了半夜三更一直给我们打电话的、一天到晚发短信发KAKAO的、不管去哪里都要偷偷跟着的那种人，有意思吗？我很讨厌别人来打扰我的生活！我喜欢逛街吃饭在外面见朋友，但我不喜欢被人跟着，我不是罪人！出去不是去犯罪！我只想工作完了可以安静的休息，有属于自己的空间！而不是像现在这样！"

"I really cannot stand calls coming in the middle of the night, endless messages from Kakao, no matter where I go there's always people following, is it that fun and meaningful? I hate people who disturb my private life! I love eating with my friends outside, however I don't like people stalking me, I am not an offender! Going out is not against the law! All I want is to get my work done so I can have my quiet, peaceful rest, especially giving myself space! Not how it is now!"

In my opinion, what Tao wrote was simply out of frustration. If not, why did he delete this post after this was on his Weibo? It is funny to see how Tao mentioned about eating with friends outside. I mean if you want privacy, I suggest that he should not write too much about his private life. He can simply get a new mobile number if there are people calling every night or turn on the "Do Not Disturb" mode which can be found on iPhone settings (he owns a white iPhone 5). Tao should not just say off to the sasaengs in this manner in the first place. If he wanted to type out his anger and frustration, he should have typed it out in a polite way to avoid having clashes with sasaengs.

Although I know that sasaengs' actions are wrong, I believed EXO should have handle this matter in a right way and not telling them off. As a celebrity, they must keep their reputation. Since EXO is still a new K-pop group, I hope this matter would gain them experience and moral values in future. The sasaengs should seriously learned how to balance their personal life and interests. As sasaengs are mostly made up of teenagers, they should learned how to control themselves over temptation. Parents should also teach their child how to limit themselves too.

P.S. I have checked the photo of Baekhyun and it seemed that he looked drunk instead of being angry. There were many statements saying that there were no chaos. A photo of a fan standing on a chair was a relative filming the whole wedding. I am not sure whether those are true or not but in a meantime, a statement made by member Kris seemed to be 'fake'.
