I am here today to talk about this Japanese anime turned live action film, Black Butler. I bet every anime fans will be reading this, once I mentioned this film title. I remembered hearing the news from my mother about how the people wanted to turned this popular anime into a live action film and I was like, "Really?". I started watching a few episodes of Black Butler last year with my sister during school holidays and I have to admit that this anime was indeed the best I have ever seen due to the fact I watched Shugo Chara which is way below the standard of what I looked for in series.
Okay back to the real review, I am pleased with the cast selected to play the characters. Hiro Mizushima, who played the famous, devilish butler, Sebastian was well played and he indeed captured the 'image' of the animated character. Ayame Goriki, who played Ciel was also well played, despite the fact she is a female character turned into a boy for a reason to survive. Although I didn't watched the first few episodes of Black Butler, I found myself enjoying the film with its engaging storyline with a combination of suspense and terror. However, during the near ending credits, the storyline seems to feel unfocused and sometimes, out of character.
The conversion from Victorian to modern era was definitely fantastic. So does the fighting scenes which were sleek and clean. Not to forget, actress Yuka who played the female badie was amazing, despite her character's intention.
I am definitely going to praised the film for capturing the original series and compressing all the music and scenes as one. Black Butler, you did it!
