Movie Review: Nowhere Boy

THIS REVIEW WAS WRITTEN A DAY BEFORE ITS PUBLISHED.

Hello readers,
Today is Good Friday and instead of being productive on completing homework, I decided to dig into the collection of DVDs I have at home. Looking through my collection of DVDs, I picked this film and rewatched. Nowhere Boy is a 2009 biographical film starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson (then known as Aaron Johnson), Anne-Marie Duff and Kristen Scott-Thomas. The film is based on the biography of late John Lennon written by his half sister.

I remembered the last time I watched Nowhere Boy which was five or four years ago. Aaron Johnson portrayed John Lennon honestly, I mean literally he does looked "John Lennonzy". The chemistry between Aaron and both his co-stars was fantastic. There were ups and downs in John Lennon's early life prior to his days in The Beatles. Nowhere Boy is a film which shows from the top to bottom about how John handled and balanced the people around him, especially his mother and aunt. I can't imagined myself, being placed in a situation like him... having to choose between his loved ones.

I have to be honest with my readers that I enjoy biographical films because these films allow you to take a closer look on the person's life and also assessed the actor's interpretation/take on the character. Nowhere Boy is one of the biographical films I enjoyed and will never forget every scenes. It can't be compared to some films I watched which I shall not go into detail. If you are a person who wishes to find out more about the late John Lennon or his early days including The Quarrymen, I recommend you to watch Nowhere Boy.

P.S. The songs used in the film are my jam :)
