Hello readers,
I decided to take my time and spent watching this 2001 nostalgic film version of James Dean. I heard about this version which James Franco as the titular character where he spent lots of research on this classic figure, even this poster tells all.
Again, as a person who likes biographical films, it is no wonder people may remembered James Dean as a rebellious, angst icon and talented actor. Although this film may not be accurate, it does showed a partial life of James from childhood to the day where he died in 1955. Franco as James Dean was brilliant, having to replicated the attitude and movements of the man completely. You don't really see him as the actor, but the James Dean itself.
I enjoyed the pace the film goes, especially how the scenes where Winton Dean (James' estranged father) and James' conversation. The chemistry as father and son was an interesting aspect of the film itself. In my opinion, after watching the film, I thought to myself, what if James became rebellious to win his support from his father since he lost his mother at the age of 9. I just can't imagined how he went through with his personal and professional life.
James Dean may only have 3 major roles in his acting credits, but his way of acting and attitude he carried shows otherwise a true talent and mysterious figure. If you want to have a look on James Dean's life and career or maybe relived the period of his time, I recommend you to watched this 2001 version of James Dean. (I am sure you will give a sympathy to this classic figure.) ;)
